We are delighted to announce that on April 30th, 2023, the Shi’a Research Institute hosted its inaugural academic event, an Exploratory Workshop dealing with “The current state and future horizons in Shiʿi Studies”.

This event was held at the University of Toronto’s Wycliffe College.

The workshop brought together esteemed scholars and leading professors of Religious Studies and Islamic Studies from various universities in Europe and North America.

The event was a resounding success and provided us with a clear understanding of the current state of the field. SRI plans to chart its course into the future using what we have learned during this event.
