Farhana Mayer is a scholar of Qur’anic Hermeneutics and a Research Affiliate at the Laudato Si’ Research Institute (Campion Hall, Oxford). She previously lectured in Sufism at SOAS, University of London (2010–2012), and later taught Qur’anic Exegesis at the Institute of Ismaili Studies, where she also served as Head of the Graduate Programme in Islamic Studies and Humanities (2012–2015). Her publications include Spiritual Gems: The Mystical Qur’an Commentary Ascribed to Ja‘far al-Sadiq (Fons Vitae, 2011) and Anthology of Qur’anic Commentaries: On the Nature of the Divine (with F. Hamza and S. Rizvi, Oxford University Press/Institute of Ismaili Studies, 2008).
